Laiye ADP updates: from document parsing to agentic workflows

In document automation, what really eats up time is often not recognition itself, but the prep work before it: Excel files converted to images, PowerPoint decks converted to another format, long documents split into chunks, and complex mixed-layout pages segmented by hand.

This August, Laiye ADP shipped V1.15 and V1.16 back to back. From faster extraction on long documents, to native Excel and PowerPoint handling, to automatic segmentation of complex layouts, these releases extend automation across more of the document pipeline — both before and after documents enter a workflow.

What's new:

Native Excel structure recognition and result referencing

ADP now processes spreadsheets using their native Excel structure instead of first converting worksheets into images. This preserves cells, row and column relationships, and table layouts more reliably across wide tables, multi-sheet workbooks, and complex spreadsheets. Results can also be referenced back to the original sheet for review, verification, and downstream automation.

PowerPoint document processing

ADP now accepts PPT and PPTX files for document parsing, so parsed content can flow directly into downstream extraction and business processes. Presentations, proposals, and other PowerPoint materials can enter the workflow without format conversion.

Agentic Docflow: Layout Analysis for automatic segmentation of complex documents

When engineering drawings, technical manuals, or project materials combine text, images, and tables on the same page, the Layout Analysis node identifies each content region and passes them to downstream nodes for separate processing. This removes the need to manually pre-split files and reduces interference between different types of content.

Agentic Extraction Fast: view Self-Optimization Agent evaluation records

View evaluation records generated by the Self-Optimization Agent or initiate evaluations manually, and review accuracy after each optimization to determine whether it was effective.

• Drill down into evaluation details — search by document or field, or show only incorrect results — to quickly locate documents and fields that require adjustment.

Agentic Extraction Fast: extract long documents

Agentic Extraction Fast now supports PDF files of up to 260 pages and 50 MB. Long contracts, financial statements, research reports, ledgers, and other content-heavy documents can be uploaded and extracted directly without being split in advance.

Agentic Docflow: new fast processing nodes

Agentic Docflow now includes a Fast Extraction node and a Fast Classification and Splitting node. In a typical extraction task, a single node can reduce processing time by approximately 65%.

Other improvements

• Clearer capability naming: updated naming and descriptions for standard and fast extraction modes to make capability selection easier and reduce distraction from retiring modules.
• Product experience: improved credit-consumption reminders for Stamp Recognition and Invoice Verification in out-of-the-box apps; clarified in-app field translation descriptions; kept headers fixed for long result tables; and added a version information entry point in the product.
• Agentic Docflow: improved the generation, orchestration, and runtime stability of complex workflows with more than 10 nodes.
• Improved Agentic Docflow runtime experience: complex or long-running workflows now execute more reliably. The system checks for invalid configurations in advance, provides clearer reasons for expired files, invalid inputs, or node execution failures, and ends failed or timed-out tasks promptly.
• Expanded table configuration in Agentic Extraction Fast: a single table field can now contain up to 30 subfields.

What these releases set out to solve are concrete problems in document automation: one fewer format conversion, one fewer manual split, and less duplicate configuration and waiting. From upload, parsing, and extraction through to downstream processing, more and more steps that once required manual prep can now be handed directly to ADP.
