Laiye's Innovative Path in the RPA Industry
Laiye has been recognized in the 2024 Gartner® "Critical Capabilities for Robotic Process Automation" report for four consecutive years. This report serves as a companion piece to the previously released 2024 "Magic Quadrant™ for Robotic Process Automation ".
The report encompasses 10 critical capabilities of the enlisted RPA products, including automated design and development, UI integration, self-healing bots, RPA administration, and embedded AI, among others.[LL2] According to Gartner: "this research evaluates 13 RPA products, based on their ability to support four common use cases", namely: Unattended automation, Attended automation, Automation center of excellence (COE) and Augment Automation with AI. [LL3] The assessment offers a nuanced understanding of each vendor's strengths and capabilities within the dynamic RPA landscape.
According to Gartner: "To help enterprise application leaders evaluate RPA platforms, we have identified four common RPA use cases."
Unattended automation: Automate unattended processes/tasks involving datatranscription among applications.
Attended automation: Enhance the productivity of human workers with attended RPA bots.
Automation center of excellence (COE): Manage automation initiatives with ideation, operation, delivery and operational key performance indicators (KPIs).
Augment with AI: Leverage AI/ML, intelligent document processing (IDP), largelanguage models (LLMs) and generative AI (GenAI) prompt capabilities to augmenthuman employees through multiple automation use cases.”
According to the report, "Robotic process automation (RPA), along with some adjacent markets that are focused on business process automation, is facing some consolidation effects due to natural evolution and convergence of automation technologies." The integration of General Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) is emerging as a standard feature in RPA products, with over 80% of vendors planning to incorporate GenAI, underscoring the market's pressing demand for intelligent automation solutions. However, market maturity remains uneven, with only about half of the vendors currently offering widely available GenAI capabilities. Furthermore, Gartner states that: "Almost all RPA vendors are focusing on enabling cloud-first platforms. Most newer entrants to the market offer cloud-only orchestration, whereas more specialized players have both on-premises and cloud offerings. "
In light of these trends, Gartner recommends that "Enterprise application leaders responsible for evaluating RPA platforms should: treat RPA as part of a broader suite of automation technologies, and research RPA for specialist needs; Augment automation by selecting vendors with proven generally available GenAI features and a clear vision for integrating AI capabilities into their RPA platforms; and Evaluate the vendor’s deployment capability by aligning with your preferred deployment model to determine the best possible solution."
